Questions homeowners ask
How much does it cost to have 100 feet of fence installed?
For six-foot wood privacy fencing, roughly $1,900 to $3,150 installed. Chain link over the same run is a little over half that; aluminium is close to double. Gates are extra either way.
How much does 200 ft of fencing cost?
About $3,750 to $6,250 for wood privacy fencing. Two hundred feet is roughly what it takes to enclose an average suburban back yard, and most quotes at that length include one walk gate.
How much does Home Depot charge to install a fence?
Big-box installation is subcontracted to local crews, so the price lands in the same range as hiring a fence company directly. What differs is the material list, you are quoted on what the store stocks. Getting one independent quote alongside it is the only way to know which is cheaper in your area.
Is chain link or wood cheaper?
Chain link, by a wide margin, around 45% less per foot installed. Wood costs more up front and needs staining every few years, but it gives privacy, which chain link does not. Vinyl sits above wood on price and removes the maintenance entirely.
