Questions homeowners ask

What does mold remediation typically cost?

For a standard job covering about 150 square feet, roughly $1,950 to $3,150. Surface mould on a small area often prices at the job minimum near $800. Mould inside walls across several rooms runs closer to $9,850.

Will insurance pay for mold remediation?

Sometimes, and it turns on the cause. Mould following a sudden covered event, a burst pipe, is often covered. Mould from a slow leak, humidity or deferred maintenance usually is not. Document the source before anything is removed.

Is mold remediation worth it?

Untreated mould spreads and the cost scales with it. A 150 square foot surface job at around $2,550 becomes a $32,000 structural one if it reaches framing after flooding. It also has to be disclosed at sale in most states.

Can a house full of mold be saved?

Almost always, though whole-house remediation after flooding runs into the tens of thousands. The decisive question is whether the framing is affected and whether the moisture source has been fixed, remediation without fixing the source just resets the clock.
